Here’s a stat that changed the way I look at affiliate marketing:
👉 Most people need 7–12 touches before they buy.
That means if you’re relying on a single email, a blog post, or a quick social media link to make sales—you’re leaving money on the table. Lots of it.
This is the Follow-Up Problem.
Think about it: your audience is busy. They open your email while standing in line, click your link, skim a page, and then life pulls them away. If you’re not following up, you lose them forever.
The truth is, the fortune is in the follow-up.
Here’s how to fix it:
✅ Automated Sequences: Build an autoresponder series (5–10+ emails) that nurtures leads, adds value, and keeps the conversation going.
✅ Prewritten Follow-Ups: Programs like John Thornhill’s MAP and Ambassador Program include 350+ professionally written follow-ups you can plug in immediately.
✅ Storytelling > Selling: Don’t just repeat the link. Share stories, customer wins, and your own journey with the product.
✅ Multiple Touchpoints: Follow up not just by email, but also with blogs, social posts, and retargeting when possible.
The first click rarely converts. But with consistent follow-up, your audience starts to trust you, see the value of the product, and eventually say yes.
If you’ve been frustrated with “no sales,” ask yourself: Am I following up enough? Chances are, the fish are nibbling—they just need a few more casts before they bite.
Tomorrow, we’ll move into The Mindset Problem—because even with all the right strategies, the biggest battle is often in your head.
Always stay teachable and keep going. If you’re serious about building your own income stream, stick with this series—you won’t regret it.
