Recently, my wife had to undergo day surgery in the city. Since she uses a wheelchair, we needed a vehicle that could accommodate her needs. It was a three-day trip that required multiple services: getting to and from the city, moving between the doctor’s office and the hotel, and traveling to the hospital and back.

I thought we had everything planned. But after our doctor’s appointment, the transportation service I called couldn’t provide a van. They had no idea when one would be available, and we had a tight schedule with the hospital appointment the next morning. After waiting for hours, we ended up walking to the hotel, which thankfully wasn’t too far away, about three-quarters of a mile.

Was it worth $128 for two short rides of about a mile each? Absolutely! The alternative was walking uphill, which wouldn’t have been possible after surgery. To me, the perceived value of that service was priceless.
