A brilliant business plan poorly executed
In 2018 we were ready. We had been talking about opening a B&B and antique shop for years and the time had finally come to make the move. We had some inventory, a dream and a new direction. Some cash but I had heard about how these things always work by using other people’s money.
I paid about $2,500 for a business plan that looked good on paper and was impressive to the bankers.
We found a property that would work and so we set out only to start slowly drifting from the plan within a few weeks. The house was within our budget but the guy wanted us to buy the furniture. It was a great deal but wasn’t part of the plan. The property was big but wasn’t going to hold everything so we needed to lease a building. Found one nearby and the guy made a great deal to buy with owner financing. A perfect fit, lots of room, a few blocks from the house, in a great area, but not part of the plan. The bank was willing to loan us money against the inventory to help us get setup, great offer, but not part of the plan. We found ourselves with over half a million dollars of debt and no sales on the horizon, you guessed it, not part of the plan.
You get the picture, not part of the plan seemed to jump out every step of the way. Would it have worked had we stuck to the plan? Not sure because soon we were in too deep to go back to the original plan and ended up abandoning the project. We lost over $30k within 6 months and we were getting down to the equity in our home. We decided against that so regrouped, offered our apologies to the ones we were dealing with, and made it all right the best we could.
Some of you have probably experienced something similar, or worse perhaps.
If you have a restless soul and the desire to change the status quo, keep life interesting and seek out new adventures then you know what I am talking about.
We recovered but it took some time. I went back to a former employer which allows me to work remotely and have been methodically building out our affiliate marketing platform always remembering the experience from 2018. In fact, this photo is the first one I took when we arrived in town the first day and I keep it as a reminder to myself to never do that again!!
I bring up this story because I want to share the good news about where we are today and the exciting new journey we are on building out DIGITAL FIVE L which is our platform to educate others who are interested in getting into the affiliate marketing game. There is so much information available and so many offers, and so few success stories. We want to share our adventures and misadventures in hopes of saving you the trouble of failing in the same places.

One of the most exciting programs I have found is the MAP program being designed by digital success superstars John Thornhill and Omar Martin. John has been at this for a lot of years and Omar met him when he took his training course in 2008. Today on the weekly video call they shared their origin story and how Omar wanted to invest in John’s training but didn’t have the ready cash at the time. He said he and Melinda worked it out and soon he was learning from one of the greats in affiliate marketing.

I came across the MAP program in 2023 when they first announced it. I like the concept and had already participated in some of John’s training and was familiar with his success. After losing the $30k a few years earlier it was a no brainer to invest $797 to become one of the original 200 MAP backers. They are using a brilliant 3 phase approach and we are currently in Phase 2 where the original 200 have the opportunity to recruit new backers for the same one time fee and these new members will also have the privilege of recruiting their own MAP backers. This program pays 75% commission so we are profitable with the second sale!! Simple, drive traffic to your unique link and when they purchase you earn almost $600. It gets better with the 2 tier commission as you also earn a portion when the folks you sign up sign up others.
Since this is a new program being written fresh from the ground up Phase 2 has been extended for a short period of time as they work out a few of the bugs which is very common in the software industry. But now is the time to take advantage of these delays. Phase 3 keeps a lot of the same benefits but the one time lifetime membership will go away. I urge you to check this out and get in while you can. Please don’t take your bill money to invest in this because while it has long range potential, we all know that overnight success is rare. You don’t want to explain why you can’t keep the lights on because you thought you could quickly make a couple of sales to put the money back!
It doesn’t cost anything to look at the program and if after looking you can see the potential as I have and you can spare the money then by all means this is one of the greatest investments you will find in affiliate marketing in my opinion. If you are serious about succeeding in affiliate marketing then you don’t want to miss the opportunity to learn from these experts.

There was advice always available to me but I didn’t discover it until after our 2018 experience. Deep down I knew better, but thought we would be different.
Jesus Himself said it best in Luke 14:28 – Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
