Hello again, Thank you for joining us on our journey to prosperity with affiliate marketing.

For me, I have several reasons for staying, but part of my process is to transition from a wage earner to an entrepreneur over the next few years. Still working, but for myself and absolutely loving every minute of it.

My Main 3 reasons:

  1. The income generated by the job. I didn’t plan well for retirement, life got in the way, I was a poor saver. But at the same time we did enjoy life raising the kids, living in the moment of sorts, so here we are. I am currently 67 planning to live to 120 and perhaps work until I am 70 or so in my current position. I am also starting to build this online business and excited about that as I will be able to keep more of the profits than when I am working for someone else.
  2. Something to do. I have worked all my life and can’t imagine a day where I didn’t have something to do. I believe Elvis Presley once said that everyone needs someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to. I like to fish but for someone who has worked more than played I find work to be my hobby.
  3. Leave a legacy. We have three sons and currently 2 grandsons. My parents and grandparents were just hard working folks and never accumulated much. There were 7 of us and we each inherited about $3k when our Dad passed and each owed about $800 when our Mom passed. My wife’s family was worse. Her Dad had earned a lot of oil royalties in the years leading up to his death but thought that if he cashed the checks the IRS would never know. He left about 120 acres of land with royalties to my wife and her brother. He also left an IRS debt of around $325,000 so they have a way of settling accounts with the heirs. Since there were assets they ended up selling the land to settle so that was about a wash.

I do not regret the choices I made to get to this point and I look forward to working until the end, easy work of course!! And I am super excited about being able to leave more for my kids and grandkids than my parents did.

We are currently building out our online presence, visit our website and join us on our journey.

We would love to hear your story.  If you are reaching retirement age, or already there and still working, please share your reasons for continuing to work.

If you are not reaching retirement age just yet, we would love to hear from you as well. Hopefully my journey will inspire you to plan better, 40 years pass in the blink of an eye.

Until next time

Matt
