Hello again,

Thank you for joining my on my journey to prosperity with affiliate marketing.

I tried affiliate marketing a few years ago and was so excited about the prospect of making money online.

But I didn’t need any instructions, I knew better.  My plan was to sign up for as many products as possible then build a website mimicking a shopping mall of the 80s, with something for everyone.

I spent hours searching for products I thought would be a good fit for my online shopping mall, then spent hours building the website, still excited because I had something for everyone.  All they had to do was click on my website, then find the product they wanted, buy it, and I would get commission.

What a plan! My Plan! I thought of it all by myself!  I showed it to my son and he thought it was too busy, too many offers, hard to navigate.

So there I sat, a great website, with no visitors.  Like a dingy sitting in the middle of the ocean, no one knew I was there, unless someone happened to pass that way in the night.  But I wasn’t even in the shipping lanes.  And I couldn’t afford advertising and didn’t know how to drive traffic, so there I sat. 

But I knew better, remember this was all my idea, who needs training?

Deep down I knew the internet was the solution to building a home based business.  I started paying attention to the articles about choosing one or two items, then promoting them instead of having something for everyone.  It took me a long time to grasp this idea, because I wanted to be something for everyone.  I ended up being something for no one.

So now I am going deep instead of wide.  And I am paying attention to those who have built a successful business online.
